Hello!

I’m Lindsey Yankey children’s book illustrator and author. I make my home in lovely Lawrence, Kansas with my family and our pets. I grew up in an artistic family of animal lovers and that certainly rubbed off on me! My studio assistants are Coco the cat, Gus the old man beagle, and Maybelle the lap dog pit-mix.

I find inspiration in the world around me, my neighborhood, animals, nature, everyone’s got a story to tell. 

When I make art I use a lot of different materials. Some of my favorites are pencil, watercolor, linocut, collage, acrylic and monoprint.

Making books is a whole lot of fun and I hope you have fun reading them!
